The Tribal Tribune - Editor in Chief
August 2017 - June 2020
I led a 59 person staff and taught new student journalists to report school, community and national news in a monthly paper (24-48 pages) and to facilitate innovative and quality journalism. Along with leadership, I wrote for the online and print editions, contributed as a photojournalist, designed pages and ran the paper's social media outreach. In the face of the pandemic, my staff was separated from all our software and files and were met with the challenge of covering some of the most important news of the year without any resources. It was my responsibility to keep the staff engaged with bi-weekly Zoom meetings, fact checking and consistent online and social media coverage. In my tenure on The Tribal Tribune, I co-founded a podcast, implemented multimedia coverage to our online news outlet and started a social media platform on Instagram, Spotify and Twitter.
